Steve Stanulis is a name synonymous with versatility, ambition, and reinvention. From his humble beginnings as a New York Police Department (NYPD) officer to his rise as a celebrated filmmaker and actor, Stanulis embodies the spirit of resilience and creativity. With a career path spanning law enforcement, entertainment, and entrepreneurship, his journey is a testament to following one’s passion, no matter where life begins.

Born on November 25, 1971, in Staten Island, New York, Stanulis began his professional life serving the public as an NYPD officer. A decorated member of the force, his career took an unexpected turn following an injury in 2002. Retiring early, he explored new opportunities, briefly performing as a Chippendales dancer under the alias Steve Savage before stepping into the world of Hollywood security.

As a celebrity bodyguard, Stanulis worked with A-list stars, including Leonardo DiCaprio and Kanye West. These interactions gave him a unique insight into the entertainment industry, sparking his ambition to delve into acting and filmmaking. Encouraged by high-profile clients, he transitioned to the big screen, appearing in films such as The Replacements, Gangs of New York, and The Interpreter. Television audiences may also recognize him from The Sopranos and The Deuce.

In 2012, Stanulis founded Stanulis Films, a production company that has since delivered critically acclaimed projects. His debut feature, Long Shot Louie, won Best Drama at the Williamsburg Film Festival, marking the start of a prolific filmmaking career. His documentary Wasted Talent (2018) and horror film Clinton Road (2019) received multiple awards, solidifying his reputation as a creative force in the industry.

Stanulis’s latest project, the Tubi original series Great Kills (2023), highlights his range as both a producer and actor. The dark comedy crime drama follows the exploits of a Staten Island contract killer and has been praised for its gritty storytelling and authentic humor.

Despite his success, Stanulis’s career hasn’t been without controversy. His stint as Kanye West’s bodyguard in 2016 led to public disputes, including allegations of breaching confidentiality agreements. These incidents, however, only amplified his public profile, culminating in the documentary 15 Days with Kanye, which offers a candid glimpse into his time with the rapper.

Now, as the CEO of Stanulis Films, he continues to push boundaries. Whether through acting, directing, or producing, his work reflects a deep commitment to storytelling. With upcoming projects and a growing presence in podcasting through Screw The Clout, Stanulis remains a dynamic figure in the entertainment landscape.

Steve Stanulis’s journey from NYPD officer to Hollywood visionary is one of resilience, reinvention, and the relentless pursuit of dreams. As he continues to break new ground, he serves as an inspiration to those who dare to follow unconventional paths, proving that success often lies in embracing the unexpected.
