Meta Platforms recently revealed its plans to ramp up investment in AI in Vietnam and prepare new mixed-reality headsets. Meta intends to start local production of the Quest 3S, a mixed-reality headset, in 2025. Â
This aligns with Meta’s strategy of intensifying the company’s market hold within Vietnam, an aspiring Asia-Pacific country.
Nick Clegg’s Statement Following High-Level Meetings:
Meta’s president for global affairs, the former deputy British prime minister Nick Clegg, made the statement during his trip to Vietnam, where he met with Vietnamese President To Lam in New York. Meta is after the choice, which underlines the significance of Vietnam in its strategies worldwide.
Details of the Meta Expansion:
Meta has not disclosed more information about its production expenditures or whether it will work directly with manufacturers or indirectly through suppliers.
Meta’s expansion will be a big step. Vietnam is one of Meta’s strategic markets since Facebook, for example, has tens of millions of users in the country.
Meta AI Innovation and Future Developments:
Apart from increasing production, the firm is also planning to introduce Meta AI testing in Vietnamese, which will enhance its focus on AI in the region. This was already trialed in Vietnam in June, and the full rollout of Business AI for Messenger is set for the end of this year in 2023.
For these purposes, the tech giant plans to improve the lot of 70 million SMBs and consumers it impacts in places where its platforms are accessible, thereby expanding its clout in Vietnam’s emergent tech scene.
